When Caroline Walter of Freiburg, Germany died at the age of 16, her sister, ,Selma, had a sculptor cast a life size sculpture for the gravestone - Every morning since Caroline’s funeral, a fresh flower was found tucked in the crook of the arm, and still is to this day - Nobody knows who leaves it - Every single morning! - Caroline died in 1867 - For 146 years, someone has been leaving flowers…

Caroline totes had a vampire lover.

This is by far, my favorite theory.

Straight Muslims only contribution on discussions about queer Muslims:

"It’s haraam to be gay"

Feeling this so much right now. Sometimes when I try to open up discussion with other Muslims on being gay it just… doesn’t go anywhere….

Pretty much this. As a Muslim, I’ve had the rare opportunity to live with the Catholic Church. In fact, I was living with Catholic Priests when I was forced out of the closet.

What I’ve learned is Muslims have a lot to learn from Christians. I find that Christians - at least those that I’ve encountered - ask themselves “What would Jesus do?”. This often means being kind, empathic, understanding, and compassionate. And having a discussion.

What I see Muslims doing is asking “What does The Qu’ran say?”. They then come out with a concrete ruling that leaves no room for discussion. They’re ready to judge, condemn, and ignore you. It’s the same religious poisonous thinking that Islamists have - albeit less violent.

You may not think there’s an intersection between the thinking behind Muslim homophobia and violent Islamic extremism. But as a gay Muslim whose stood in a pool of human blood shed by terrorists, I couldn’t disagree more.

M: This week, I discovered a terrible Earth disease called ‘loneliness’.

O: Do many people on Earth suffer from this illness?

M: Oh yes, sir. And how they suffer.
